In the past year I have developed an obsession with painting my nails. My favourite is a pale lavender colour, but I have tried neons, dark jewel tones, and classy neutrals. I’ve attempted all sorts of patterns—symmetrical lines, patriotic flags, colour gradations. My favourites are leopard print and roses. I’ve experimented with stickers (the cheaper Sally Hansen ones are superior to the more expensive Sephora ones, FYI). I’ve tried different top-coats to achieve matte or extra shiny finishes. I’ve purchased specialty brushes and sponges for the more advanced designs. And I have no idea why.
WORN Fashion Journal is a print publication that comes out twice a year (once in hot weather, once in cold) based in Toronto, Canada.
OUR MISSION
* To show a wide range of beauty, one that includes diversity of culture, subculture, gender identification, sexuality, size, race, and age.
* To offer provocative thought on fashion and aesthetics in an accessible way.
* To refrain from polarizing fashion into concepts of “in” and “out,” or “good” and “bad”.
* To differentiate between personal style and the fashion industry, and recognize that the two don’t necessarily have to align.
* To answer, always and above all, to our readers and not our advertisers.
* To celebrate the universal appeal of fashion, outside of time and trend.
* To have a sense of humor, but not at anyone’s expense (with the notable exception of our own).
